Below is an outline of the problems faced, our innovative solutions, and the ongoing collaboration to enhance the hospital’s environment.
Macquarie University Hospital initially installed door and wall protection products from an alternative supplier. Within just five years, these products showed significant failures:
- Failing Alternative Products: The door frame protection was peeling off, crash rail covers and end caps were popping off, and corner guards were cracking with top caps detaching.
- Cleanliness Issues: The multiple piece door frame protection had caulk lines that accumulated dust and grime, making them difficult to clean and unhygienic.
- Safety Concerns: Cracked plastic protection posed a danger to patients, staff and visitors.
- Aesthetic Downgrade: The failing products deteriorated the hospital’s appearance, which in turn can affect reputation.

One-Piece Door Frame Protection
Our revolutionary one-piece door frame protection provided a seamless and durable solution:
- Seamless Design: Wraps around the entire door frame, eliminating exposed edges that could peel or catch on passing equipment.
- Enhanced Cleanliness: Without caulk lines, the door frame protection is easy to clean and maintain, promoting a hygienic environment.
- Aesthetic Improvement: The seamless design offers a smooth, unobtrusive appearance, enhancing the overall look of the hospital.
Palladium® High Impact Corner Guards
We replaced the failing corner guards with our Palladium® High Impact Corner Guards:
- Superior Durability: Constructed from Palladium® material, these corner guards boast unmatched durability as opposed to the inferior PETG product previously used which becomes brittle when exposed to light and cleaning agents.
- High Impact Resistance: Designed to withstand collisions, providing robust protection for the hospital’s walls and corners.
Crash Rails
Our durable crash rails addressed the issues of scraping, damage, and peeling off:
