Westmead Hospital (Central Acute Services Building)
Westmead Hospital’s Central Acute Services Building takes the place as tallest hospital in the Southern Hemisphere, boasting 12 levels and a helipad. Impressive huh?
The interior of the building is no less impressive, with highest quality of finishes and workmanship maintained throughout. It is a tribute to the excellent partnership between Multiplex, Western Sydney LHD & HDR Architects, as well as the numerous trades that made it happen. The Multiplex team were a pleasure to work alongside due to their open and clear communication, without all the inefficiencies that Tier 1 projects are often prone to.
As for our scope, well the hospital is lucky to be fitted out with the full suite of Acculine Inpro products, backed by a 25yr product guarantee that will see the hospital looking great for future generations of Western Sydneysiders.
Bright coloured door and wall protection was used through the paediatric wards to provide an engaging and uplifting space for the patients
Fitted throughout the hospital is:
- 8000m of 1600 Series Wall Guard
- 1200m of handrail
- 1500 x custom profiled one-piece Door Frame Protectors
- 1600m2 of Door Protection Kick Plates
- 3200 x Corner Guards (160 Series and Stainless steel)
- 700m of Spotted Gum Timber Crashrail
In the words of Ken from Multiplex “Acculine has shown their eagerness and experience to resolve issues in a timely manner and keep Multiplex in the loop of any issues that might hinder their progress on site. I would not hesitate to recommend Acculine on future projects.”
Thankfully there were no issues on site with procurement or program and that is testament to great coordination and communication between the Multiplex and Acculine teams. Being able to assist Multiplex with a full Supply & Install package on this project gave us the ability to coordinate procurement and fabrication from start to finish, to deliver this MASSIVE project seamlessly.
